Elders
Josh Doorenbos
Josh and Bethany Doorenbos and their six children moved to Harrisburg in fall the of 2023 to pursue their dream of planting a church.
Both grew up (Josh in Boyden, IA; Bethany in Jackson, MN) and attended college in the area, before moving to Sioux Falls so Josh could attend seminary.
Bethany has the joy of staying at home to homeschool their kids while Josh has worked in various ministry capacities, mostly in Youth and Music ministry, for a decade, most recently for five years in Washington, IA where they met the Timmer’s.
Josh and Andy, having worked together in the youth ministry, felt a joint calling to church planting, and after much prayer and discussion, landed here in Harrisburg, SD. The Lord was gracious and we began services in Easter of 2024.
Josh and Bethany both have a passion for family worship and discipleship, with Josh especially being passionate about going deep in our understanding of the Bible and how to live it out consistently as individuals and families.
We are excited to be here and to see what the Lord has in store for us as we get to know our neighbors and seek to glorify God in Jesus Christ by proclaiming his Word!
Andy Timmer
Andy and Audrianne Timmer and their four children moved to Harrisburg in 2023 to embark on the journey of planting a church in Harrisburg with Josh Doorenbos and his family.
Andy grew up in Sioux Falls and enjoys being back in the area (Audrianne and the kids are also loving exploring the Siouxland area!) He currently works full time as a physical therapist while also serving in preaching and leading with the SDG Harrisburg church plant.
Before moving to Harrisburg, Andy and Audrianne were faithful members of their small town church in Washington, Iowa (Faith Baptist Church) where Andy served as an elder. They are committed to raising up their family in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and are excited to be a part of God's work here in Harrisburg.
